Top Ten Tips For Your Best Year Yet!

  1. Write down all the things you have achieved over the last few months and be proud of them. It may be a bit uncomfortable, most of us are happier talking about our failures than our successes but when you try this it will put you in a very positive frame of mind.
  2. Review all areas of your life. Sometimes it is important to sit down and think about all aspects of your life and which areas you are happy with and which ones you would like to improve.
  3. Set realistic goals. It is important to be realistic in the goals that you set yourself or else you may be in danger of tripping up before you start. They must be positive and measurable.
  4. Don't make resolutions - find solutions. Too often our resolutions are based on giving something up or denying ourselves. Instead, think about what you want to change in your life and turn it into a positive goal. Then plan your milestones along the way.
  5. Reward yourself. We don't reward ourselves enough in life for the things that we achieve. Make promises to yourself that if you achieve your weekly goals in life that you will treat yourself with something special - something that it is important to you.
  6. Visualise your success Find or create a picture of what you want your life to look like. You might cut a picture out of a magazine or find an old picture of yourself that reminds you of what you looked/felt like at a certain time in your life that you would like to recreate. Put the picture somewhere handy like the fridge or the screensaver on your PC.
  7. Think about what is important to you in life. It could be friends, family, positive relationships or it could be faith or other values like honesty, integrity or freedom to do what you want to do in life. When you have decided what is important to you then try to live your life according to what is important to you - not to other people.
  8. Be happy. Never underestimate the power of positive thinking! Research has proven that optimistic people live longer and lead more fulfilling lives than those who are pessimistic!
  9. Think about how you limit yourself. We all believe things about ourselves that shape the way we respond to circumstances. It's a true saying that we can't control what happens to us in life but we can control how we react to it. The more we are aware of our limiting beliefs, the more we have the power to change and turn our lives around.
  10. Share your dreams with someone. When you share your dreams and goals with someone then you are enlisting their support to help you along the way. The more people that know about it, the more people that could maybe help!
